1. Alessio Mountain Bike

“Safety and Thrill”

  • High-quality components
  • Easy assembling
  • 21-Speed Drivetrain
  • The saddle could have been a little more comfortable

This isn’t your everyday mountain bike. It’s specifically designed for enthusiasts and professionals. This bike is a delight to ride on, especially if you’re upgrading from older bikes. It carries all the safety measures you’d love to find on an MTB.

The frame is quite different from other mountain bikes. I liked how Alessio went with an angled approach to the top tube. It enhances the overall aerodynamics of this bike and is noticeable on the first run. I thought it would take me a long time to get accustomed to the angled top tube and saddle however, it’s barely different from riding any normal bike.

I was comfortably able to ride on this bike for an hour before the fatigue started to kick in. The saddle of this bike is not good enough for long rides, however, for shorter trips, it works just fine.

The braking system is quite good on this bike. Hydraulic brakes are installed on this bike, which works well for their purpose. I was able to bring it from 30kmh to zero within 6 seconds. However, don’t always try applying brakes at the highest speed, this might cause damage to brakes and even break them.

There’s a 21-speed gear system present on this bike. It functions very efficiently and I was able to switch back and forth between gears without any trouble. Even at higher speeds, the gear shifting was smooth and stable.

The tires on this bike are also worth mentioning. They are capable of conquering all conditions out there. Tires often get deteriorated with continuous exposure to sunlight and rain. However, the tires on this bike are built to last. I was able to test them through the toughest conditions involving hot summer roads and water, they proved me wrong every single time.

Front fork suspension is present on this bike. It can provide ample shock resistance on rocky and uneven surfaces. I was able to give it a tough time by testing it on a bad road, however, it was able to sustain the shocks and keep the bike stable. Don’t expect high-end performance from these forks, they’re built for normal and light use, not for heavy extreme usage.

Bottom Line

This bike has all the necessary features required in a mountain bike. It has an exceptional braking system along with a durable drivetrain that makes sure it moves efficiently, making it the best mountain bikes under 2000 dollars.

If you’re looking for an affordable yet durable mountain bike, then this might be a good choice for you.

2. Raleigh Bicycles Tokul 3

“Comfort Guaranteed”

  • Good for beginners
  • Powerful disc brakes
  • Lightweight and strong aluminum frame
  • No mount for the water bottle

Raleigh has mastered the art of manufacturing bikes. They have seen it all. They’re pushing boundaries for 130 years to get that perfect riding style while maintaining comfort.

The frame and fork are what makes this mountain bike a standout among others. Tokul 3 has the frame made of AL-6061 SL custom-butted aluminum with tapered HT and an IS disc mount.

Moreover, the bike has SR Suntour XCR-32 air 27.5 forks with 120mm travel and lockout or rebound. This makes sure the rider does not feel any bumps while riding on any terrain or trail.

Brakes in any mountain bike decide the safety levels in a bike. Lately, disc brakes are considered the safest in the market. This is perhaps due to their ascertained quality with minimal or no rebound effects on the tire, especially by the plunger. The Tokul 3 needs quality brakes to give you the ultimate power to stop the bike regardless of the weather conditions.

The bike is built with the Tektro Auriga Hydraulic disc brakes. The brakes are complemented by the Tektro Auriga 2-finger hydraulic brake levers.

Wheels and tires are the most essential component in the mountain bike. Riders admit the very fact that buying a bike without examining the wheels & tires is an ultimate loss. Keeping the toughness of the terrains, tires, and wheels in Raleigh are perfect to cruise all types of terrains.

That’s why the Raleigh is equipped with the Weinmann U50 TL, 27.5” rims, and the Kenda Havoc 2.8” tires. Such a sturdy quality is necessary to ride the bumpiest terrain. The wheels are reliable and do not require repeated replacement or repairs.

How would you explore the interesting and roughest terrain in your escapade if you don’t have a comfortable seat in your mountain bike? Always make sure the mountain bike you are willing to buy comes with a comfortable saddle and a seat post. The Tokul 3 has a comfortable 140mm wide saddle.

So you can enjoy the comfort of your rides. Moving on, the Raleigh 100 series dual bolt 30.5 by 350 mm seat post complements the saddle.

Bottom Line

The Raleigh Tokul 3 gives the rider adrenaline-filled fun, memorable, and non-stop riding adventure. This mountain bike made the toughest terrains an action-filled playground for me. The bike is lightweight and has all the necessary elements a mountain bike should possess, and this makes it the best mountain bikes under 2000 dollars.

Cruise around the mountain and other trails with the Tokul 3 mountain bike.

3. Carbon T700 29″ Mountain Bike

“Strong build in featherweight”

  • Solid structure
  • Very easy to assemble
  • High quality components
  • Only available in one wheel size

This hardtail mountain bike can be one of the finest investment in the mountain bike category this days. T700 is designed for the people who want a high-quality mountain bike that can ride easily on the rocky mountains and other tough terrains.

The Carbon T700 is built with high-quality elements. It is quite obvious with the name of the bike that the frame is assembled using super-strong carbon fiber. It means the frame is strong and lightweight at the same time. Moreover, this material is good at absorbing shocks making it a necessary trait as you ride this bike on uneven tracks. I was able to carry more than 200lbs on this bike with ease, however, putting more made the handling experience poor.

There is no compromise when it comes to the braking system in the mountain bikes because they need to be in point. Your life depends upon the brakes as you need consistent braking while riding. Thankfully, the SHIMANO DEORE XT BD-M8000 Hydraulic Disc brake system works perfectly fine on both dry and wet conditions.

The braking system makes sure that the handling of the bike remains intact and the rider’s safety is ensured. In my riding experience, these brakes were very responsive upon applying, it roughly took around 5-6 four seconds for the brakes to bring me from 40mph to 0mph, without compromising stability at all.

Otherwise, at such high speeds, there are often when the bike gets unresponsive and loses the momentum, resulting in a self-inflicted crash.

This mountain bike has a 27-speed Shimano DEORE XT SL-M8000 derailleur system to easily decrease and increase the speed. This bike can reach a top speed of  40mph with ease on the highest gear. The riding experience on this bike is extremely satisfying and you always feel in control of the bike, rather than the bike controlling you.

The tires on this bike are durable and can resist the tougher climate conditions. They’re designed to accommodate the bike’s momentum on rougher and uneven terrains. The Maxxis tires are light, tough, and flexible so you can ride the bike on rocky terrains as a hot knife goes through butter.

The front suspension MANITUO M30 makes the riding experience an immense joy. This suspension forks make sure no surprise can harm you.  If felt no bumps or rocks whilst riding the bike.

Bottom Line

The T700 carbon fiber is for the people who want to experience the thrilling adventures of mountain rides. Or for the people who want to train themselves for their big tournament. This mountain bike can tolerate the toughest terrains out there and still, you can ride it as if it is brand new.

This bike can be a great choice if you’re looking to get into mountain biking as a hobby, and looking for one of the best mountain bikes under 2000 dollars.

4. SAVE 26″ Hardtail Mountain Bike

“For The Enthusiasts”

  • 22-Speed Gear Shifter
  • Hydraulic Disc Brakes
  • 22-Speed Gear Shifter
  • The pedals might be unconventional for a lot of people

This bike takes mountain biking to a whole new level with its looks and features combined. It has durable Maxxis tires along with a 22-Speed Shimano Gear System. It is designed for enthusiasts who love mountain biking and trails, making it one of the best mountain bikes under $2000 for enthusiasts.

The frame of this bike deserves the most attention, it is made from Carbon Fiber. It holds up pretty strongly in tougher scenarios where the frame of the bike gets tested, such as uneven and rocky roads. Furthermore, it also makes the bike extremely lightweight, further enhancing its aerodynamics.

The frame of this bike was able to withstand more than 250lbs without any deformation in it. However, going higher than that might cause irreversible damage to the frame, which is not recommended. The saddle on this bike can be adjusted to accommodate short and tall people alike. However, the saddle provided with the bike might not be comfortable for everyone, but it can be changed easily in a few steps.

Suspensions in mountain bikes are crucial, this bike has a dedicated Manitou Suspension Fork to handle the bumps on road. In my usage, the suspension was able to handle normal bumps, speed breakers, and rocky paths with ease. However, the suspension might not be able to accommodate deeper cracks in roads, those should be avoided at all costs.

There’s a 22-speed Shimano DEORE XT derailleur system fitted in this bike. The derailleur system works as intended and the gear shifting is smooth and pleasant. I was able to shift to the highest gear and maintain a consistent speed around 42mph during my trip. The derailleur system requires very low servicing and can last you a long time, considering how you use it.

The brakes on mountain bikes have to be sharp and responsive to ensure the safety of the rider. SAVE didn’t compromise on this and installed hydraulic Shimano disc brakes. Hydraulic brakes have an edge over traditional cable braking mechanism, they’re much quicker and more responsive upon applying.

The normal pad on rim brakes usually fail during rain, however, disc brakes work just fine in all condition, albeit requiring regular maintenance.

I’ve had some issues with the chains in the past using the mountain bikes. They’ll come off loose with the passage of time. I used this bike for 3 weeks and there was not a single time where the chain system gave me any issue. However, I made sure that I keep applying oil every week. It is highly recommended that to further prolong your bike’s lifespan.

Bottom Line

This bike is made for professionals and enthusiasts. Maxxis tires and Shimano gear system are just the icing on the cake. This bike serves well for its intended purpose, which is trailing. If you’re looking for a bike that is durable and can last you a long time then consider this bike.

5. Mongoose Salvo Pro Mountain Bike

“Built for the thrill”

  • Great for beginners
  • Easy to assemble
  • Excellent speed control
  • The pedal grip needs improvement

For some people, the mountain bike is just a regular bike with suspensions and  big tires but for some people, it is a downhill path, tricky single track, or backcountry trips. The Mongoose Salvo Pro is an ideal choice for the two groups of thoughts. The versatile design offers maximum performance in the toughest conditions.

The bike has an aluminum frame, which is durable, strong, and lightweight at the same time. Apart from its longevity, the frame is also famous for minimizing suspension lockout as you hit the brake. One of the causes, why it minimizes wear, is because it reduces chain tension.

The diameter of the wheel is 29 inches which are perfect for a mountain bike to take you up or down the hills easily. One of the best elements you will discover in this bike is the rear shock design. The upgraded seal design makes it durable. The large and ergonomic knobs are easily accessible.

Shimano is the most trustworthy name when it comes to the gear systems. The Salvo Pro is equipped with Shimano drivetrain which is considered one of the best drivetrain systems in the world. This allows the riders to quickly shift the gears with multiple choices in different terrains.

I was able to shift gears with minimal delay and there was no impact on the overall momentum of the bike whilst riding. I expected there to be some jitters, but surprisingly there was none.

Hydraulic brakes provide this bike with unique braking power, which makes it exemplary when it comes to safety. There’s a fluid in the sealed line instead of cables. Once the brakes are pressed, it increases the pressure into the pads and caliper to stop the bike. I was able to bring the bike down to zero velocity in just 5 seconds, which is great. Moreover, there no loss of stability whilst applying both brakes.

One thing I love about this bike is the easy assembling. I assembled this bike in 60 minutes using the manuals provided. Take it out of the box and it will be ready for your first ride before you even know it.

The Salvo pro is a great option for beginners because of its easy assembling and design. The bike doesn’t require much effort and provides high-level luxury even when you’re riding on rough terrains. The bike has balanced suspension which has a positive impact while handling, making it easy to ride the bike even in extreme terrains. This is yet another reason why I believe this bike is an excellent choice for beginners.

Bottom line

The Salvo Pro has all the premium features at affordable prices. The lightweight frame, Shimano gears, hydraulic disc brakes are the top-notch features among other features. 8-speed system allows you to smoothly go up or down the hill. The reliable hydraulic disc brakes can handle your commute smoothly.

The manufacturer is proud of the fact that this bike is suitable for all-day riding in numerous terrains while guaranteeing your comfort. However, there is always room for improvement and this bike needs some improvement too. Overall, this is one of the best mountain bikes under $2000 for the enthusiasts.

6. Diamondback Bicycles Overdrive 29 C

“One for the Adventures”

  • Exceptional Braking System
  • Easy to assemble
  • 11-Speed Drivetrain
  • The pedal grip design could have been better

This bike is quite unique considering Diamondback’s approach in designing the frame and keeping the bike as resilient as possible. There’s a dedicated fork suspension to compensate for the bumps on the road and 11-speed Shimano drivetrain. This bike is an exceptional performer in all types of terrains.

The color job on this bike immediately captures your attention at first glance. I liked how well the Charcoal Black and Red stickers complement each other. The aesthetic appeal of this bike simply can’t be ignored. The frame of this bike is crafted from Carbon Fiber. Carbon Fiber makes sure that the frame remains lightweight, along with adding structural integrity to the frame.

This material is also rust-resistant and can withstand all weather types without getting deteriorated. The bike was able to carry almost 270 lbs without any issues at all. The suspension remained stable and it didn’t have any trouble moving forward.

To compensate the jitters and shakes from uneven and bumpy roads, there’s a dedicated fork suspension. Rockshox Recon Gold fork suspension works well in all conditions and isn’t prone to damage from lifting heavier weights. Most suspensions give up working fine if more than 200lbs of force is exerted on them, however, this wasn’t the case with this bike. The suspension worked fine the whole time I was using the bike.

I’ve had trouble with drivetrains on other bikes, on the slower speeds they tend to disrupt the chain upon shifting and even end up making it loose. I didn’t encounter any single issue whilst shifting gears on this bike. The SRAM 11-Speed drivetrain is smooth and never disturbs the momentum of the bike.

The chain system on this bike is extremely durable. You’d never have to worry about it going loose. It always makes sure that tension remains in the chain to stop it from going loose.

This bike has Shimano M315 Hydraulic brakes that work extremely well in all conditions. I tested the brakes after rain and they were able to bring the bike down to zero velocity within 8

seconds. On dry conditions, it works even better than that and stops the motion of the bike altogether in 3 seconds and doesn’t compromise the stability.

Bottom Line

This bike is built to last you a long time. The braking system and drivetrain are the major highlights of this bike. Moreover, there’s also a lifetime warranty on the frame of the bike, which I doubt you’ll ever need.

If you’re into adventures and want a companion that can last, then this is one of the best mountain bikes under $2000.

7. S600 26 Inch Power Assist E-Bike

“Hybrid Performer”

  • Easy to assemble
  • Excellent Suspension
  • Shimano Drivetrain
  • Battery life could have been improved

Hybrid bikes have come a long way from their initial days. They are more popular than ever now. This bike has a powerful 240-watt motor that assists you on your journeys and the 6.2AH battery makes sure that it lasts long.

The frame of this bike is relatively smaller than other bikes on this list. It is carved out of carbon fiber, which gives it structural integrity and strength. The frame is quite lightweight and the design improves the overall aerodynamics of this bike. I used this bike for 3 weeks before writing this review and the frame endured all types of terrains.

I was able to move a 250lb block on this bike just to test the structural strength of the frame along with its tires. It was able to handle it quite efficiently without any deformation in the frame of the bike. The saddle is adjustable, however, it might be quite uncomfortable for most of the riders because of its unconventional design. The total bike weighs only 19kg.

It can work in both pedal-assist and manual modes. It offers two pedal-assist levels which can be switched from the LCD panel on the bike. However, there’s no electric-only mode. The pedal assist is quite good on this bike and provides an efficient and smooth experience whilst riding on hills.

There’s a torque sensor mounted on the bike which detects if there’s any need of torque. Upon detection, the microchip on this bike allocates more power to the motor. The motor present on this bike is a 240-watt motor. It may not sound much, but it serves its purpose well.

The battery powering this is rated at 36V 6.8Ah and can last you approx. 30 miles on the pedal assist. I was able to charge the entire battery in just 3 hours using the factory charger. The battery can be removed and you can buy replacement batteries easily online. Shimano gear system is installed on this bike and I was able to reach maximum speed of 35kmh with ease using it.

The suspension is unique on this bike. The left suspension uses gas and the right suspension uses liquid as their main absorbers. This combination makes sure that each shock is absorbed efficiently without impacting the rider’s experience in any way possible.

I tested the suspension on various surfaces and it surprised me every time. One may think that this combo of gas and liquid is destined to fail, however, it works brilliantly to compensate for the uneven roads.

Bottom Line

This hybrid is designed for the ones who love to go on adventures on their bikes. The motor works fine for its purpose and provides ample pedal-assist. The suspension is unique in their own way and works pretty well. If you’re looking for a hybrid bike that is strong and durable then this might be the choice for you.

The gears give this bike a versatile biking experience on steep inclines without worrying about jamming or slipping gears.

Hydraulic disc brakes produce a high amount of braking force which will allow you to smoothly disengage and engage the movement of your bike without harming your bike’s health. The bike brakes are manufactured keeping in mind the damp & wet conditions. So that’s not going to be an issue if you have this bike.

The bike has Diamondback Blanchard 38r wheels and vee Rubber t-fatty 2. 8” tires which are tough and reliable. They have a very strong design which makes them capable of riding over small or medium-sized debris while you’re out on the trail. 9. Electaride Palmer

“Long-lasting Travel Companion”

  • High quality aluminum frame
  • Comes with a 12AH Battery
  • Brakes could have been slightly better

This bike gives a tough time to its competitors with the long-lasting 12AH battery. Most bikes in this category have lower battery capacity as compared to Electaride Palmer. It has a tough and durable build that can withstand various tough conditions and terrains.

Starting with the frame of this bike, it’s a 26” frame, It’s made from aluminum and has a sporty design. It’s durable and in my usage, it was able to withstand the toughest jumps with ease. Otherwise, jumping and doing some minor stunts would cause the regular aluminum frames to deform, however, such isn’t the case with this bike. In our testing, this bike was able to carry a 250lb block with ease. The handle provides exceptional feedback and overall handling is quite good on this bike. The Saddle is adjustable on this bike and can be changed easily.

A good mountain bike deserves good suspensions, this bike has front fork suspension that is fine for most of the small bumps out there but it gets tough for it in rougher conditions. I was able to use it as a trail bike and the suspension performance was satisfactory.

The best use case scenario for this bike would be on normal furnished roads. There’s a powerful 1000 watt motor in this bike, it is capable of providing enough torque to move the on its own without any sort of pedal assist. The battery powering this electric bike is 12 AH battery that can get you around 30-50 miles per one single charge. I was able to charge the battery full in just 6 hours. That’s way less time considering the capacity of the battery.

There’s a 7-speed gear system installed in this bike that helps the rider ride more efficiently. I was easily able to shift gears without any issues. The gears are responsive and shift immediately without causing any disturbance in the bike’s momentum.

The tires on this bike are made from durable rubber and are weatherproof. It simply means that the tires can withstand bright sunlight and rain, without any deterioration. This makes the bike perfect for all conditions and climates. The brakes on this bike are standard disc brakes that apply pretty quickly upon gripping the lever, however, there were times when the brake proved to be too stiff to apply. Overall, in my usage, the braking system worked fine in most conditions and the bike stopped always without any imbalance.

Bottom Line

This bike is a good choice if you’re looking for a mountain bike that can also run on batteries. The 12AH battery is just the icing on the cake and can last more than the fellow competitors.

10. Diamondback Bicycles Catch Full Suspension Mountain Bike

“Small and Sporty”

  • Wide tires are great for all types of terrains and weathers
  • Easy assemble ready to ride
  • Reliable, high-quality parts
  • No water bottle mount

There are a lot of mountain bikes in the market and I know how difficult it is to find that perfect bike for yourself. If you are a hard rider and you want a bike that improves your abilities and doesn’t hold it back then diamondback catch 2 is the right bike for you. I’ll lay down all the facts about this bike.

Diamondback has stepped up its suspension game in recent years. This bike has the best suspension design in the market, the famous VPP design. The Diamondback design is known as “Level Link” and it works smoothly.

Level link is a rear triangle and that is suspended with two linkages at the top seat tube junction & at the backside of the bracket.

You know how frustrating it is to spend time on a bike with unwieldy shifting abilities. You can end up ending your trail or breaking your speed if you shift the gear wrong. Therefore, catch 2 had SRAM GX 1×11 drivetrain. I have a lot of choices for gears because of the shifters which makes me confident that nothing can go wrong.

I like it when I apply pressure on the brakes just to experience that abrupt and jerky stop. I like cable brakes which makes the SRAM G R hydraulic brakes a perfect option for me.

You can adjust the pressure and can do fine-tuning. This feature is beneficial on downhills so you can manage your speed peacefully.

The size and type of tire are important for a rider because the wrong tire can result in spinning out on slope or corners.

The 27.5+ Kendra Havok tired works best on dirt trails & slick rock. The 2.8″ width is excellent for rolling over stones and rough tracks when you’re experiencing the rocky or desert trips.

Bottom line

The bike is equipped with top quality parts. The pedals are strong and they have a good  grip. The fork and drivetrain are top of the line. All these elements make the ride incredibly enjoyable, making it one of the best mountain bikes under $2000.
